Since the late 1980s Australian winemakers have been on a roller coaster ride.

Trained to be artists not marketers they nevertheless pulled on their moleskins and navy jumpers and with passionate, instinctive style wowed London and New York.

But now it's getting serious. There's a traffic jam where once the driving was easy.

As our list of market destinations broadens and grows do we need to change the highways (the channels and modes of distribution), the vehicles (our product offer) or succumb to the frustration of road rage?

Is it time to challenge the accepted wisdom developed over the last two decades about the rules of the road or stick to the safety of the well-travelled track?

In keeping with its objective of leading the marketing agenda and offering practical solutions based on ground breaking analysis, The Fourth Australian Wine Marketing Conference will examine the critical 'Route to Market' challenges facing Australia's wine marketers - where do we go from here and how do we get there?
